Composer Lachlan Fife, an emerging talent in Boston MA., mixes classical forms with modern elements of melody and rhythm to create music that encompasses contemporary music. As a working composer Lachlan has had commissions and performances by The New England Conservatory’s Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, The Ludovico Ensemble, The Funk Project, The Boston Conservatory Chorale, CMOP (Chamber Music Outreach Project), and The Yurodivy Chamber Orchestra. Lachlan Fife has earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition and is finishing his Master of Music Degree in Composition at the Boston Conservatory. Lachlan currently studies with Osvaldo Golijov. Other teachers include some of the most important talents in contemporary music such as Dr. Larry Bell, Andy Vores, and Dana Brayton.
Aside from his composition studies, Lachlan also holds degrees in Audio Engineering, MIDI Technology and Sound Design. Lachlan is also an accomplished pianist and vocalist. Lachlan was born and raised in Seattle, Washington.
